QUILT PINK
In 2006 American Patchwork & Quilting magazine hosted its Quilt Pink Event where they asked quilters to create quilts that would be auctioned on eBay® with the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen For The Cure, a charity raising money to fight breast cancer. The response was overwhelming. Thousands and thousands of people from all over the United States came together and formed quilting circles to save lives—one stitch at a time. In all, nearly 4,000 fabulous quilts were donated—all carefully crafted and simply breathtaking—and this lovely book showcases 120 of these beautiful works of art. This book is a joy to look at and a true inspiration to read, whether you quilt or not. But quilters will love that step-by-step instructions for 50 of the blocks showcased here are included—such as a pretty pieced butterfly or a striking striped square—complete with full-sized patterns. All of the patterns are for 9-inch squares, so it will be a snap to mix and match them. And if you'd like to try your hand at quilting, you’ll find detailed instructions on all of the basics in the special Quilter’s Schoolhouse section. Hardcover with easy to use lay-flat spiral binding. $14.90
Fat quarters were a revolution in quilting—buying a bundle of pre-mixed colors and patterns made quilting so easy. All you had to do was fall in love with a stack. You already knew how the colors would play together. Jelly Rolls are taking that idea and running with it. Like fat quarters, jelly rolls are offered in a pre-mixed assortment of color-coordinated fabrics, but this time around the fabric is cut into 2½" strips and all rolled up in a colorful disc. This book introduces you to the jelly roll, then takes you through 17 projects specifically designed to make the most of these strips, from simple square designs to stars and log cabins and more. It’s time to roll with it! Color photos. Softcover. $14.90

Much like fat quarter stacks, jelly rolls are an assortment of pre-mixed quilt fabrics, but this time with 40 strips of 2½" fabric all rolled up to look like a sweet bakery treat. They’re the next big thing in quilting, but there still aren’t a lot of books out there for quilters already hooked on this addictive new trend. Thank goodness for Rolling Along! This is the perfect book for anyone curious about (or already in love with!) these deliciously named fabric bundles and all their sweet versatility. Here you’ll find quilts made entirely from jelly rolls in addition to quilts that beautifully combine jelly rolls and other cuts of fabric. Some of the projects feature simple appliqué work as well. There are easy-to-follow instructions for 10 cheery quilt designs with diagrams and templates whenever needed. And a trio of bonus projects (a dainty boudoir pillow with a ruffled edge, a festive table runner and a roomy zippered travel tote) offer fun ways to use up your leftover strips. Of course, don’t worry if you can’t find jelly rolls at your local quilt shop—you can always cut your own 2½" strips, jump on the jelly-roll bandwagon and start rolling along, too! Softcover. $12.90
